Social and Behavioral Researcher | Ethnographer

Raymond June

I am an experienced socio-behavioral researcher and ethnographer who has worked extensively in applied and academic research settings to deliver actionable insights on the mutual interaction between local processes and large global systems such as knowledge and information infrastructures, technology, and health care. My earlier research in academia and international development explored global systems of measurement in aid programs centered on transparency and accountability, and the ways in which they were used and transformed by local communities affected by those technocratic interventions. This background informed my subsequent work in IT that enabled me to help bridge the gap between global software design and the vernacular experiences of users in the workplace, schools, and homes. In my current role as a full-time Market Research Lead Consultant supporting Kaiser Permanente’s Hawai’i region, I lead health-care projects that allow me to navigate between translocal systems and regionally sensitive strategies in order to contribute to the design of initiatives that meet both community needs and broader organizational goals.

When not busy with my day job, I can be found engaging with my side passions: museums and heritage sites as well as documentary films.
